I know I haven't posted in awhile. Between trying to finish up school and having no computer due to both mine and Danes computers BOTH crapping out on the same day (still don't know why) I haven't had much of a choice. Now I know it's been longer than that since i've posted here and I really have no other excuse than I was lazy and kinda blogged out and not even reading much of them. I think i'm back though. So it's fall, which is MY personal favorite season. I love the smells, food and just the general feeling of the season, yes i'm a sap, whatever. Anyway. The subject we'll be covering today is smells and...well textures. Philosophy Cinnamon Buns shower gel, shampoo and bubble bath. Yes thats right girls and boys? It's all three in one. This stuff is amazing, I have loved it long time. The smoothness is incredible. Not only does it smell divine but it feel like you are smothering yourself in creamy silky wonderfulness. I'm not even kidding, it is the best feeling shower creme I have ever experienced! So coming in at a not cheap but not CRAZY expensive $16 bucks, I say this ones a keeper. All of the philosophy products are great but this one is my fav!!!! And as usual it can be found at......lets all say it together, yes thats right, Sephora.

P.S. I finally got that Tarte lip plumper that I will take pictures of and review soon!!!
Plus I graduate in about a month and a half, so things should settle down after that. Hang in there with me.

If you guys are anything like me, you probably find that your cheekbones leave much to be desired. Mine are just, well, not really there. My mom has the BEST cheekbones ever but I sadly did not inherit them from her but hey I have at least SOME boobs, so hey lifes a tradeoff. Anyway, I kow you guys probably know this one (hey i'm trying to come up with new ones) but it's something that I just always forget to do. BRONZER! Under the cheekbones, a shade or two darker than your natral skintone and presto. I use just any old standard bronzer, I prefer a powder formula for this. I use a brush and just swipe along under the bone and up. It really creates the illusion of a more prominent bone. Shading is really fun and theres alot that you can accomplish with it. I then use a peachy pink color on the apples, I love Fluer Power by Mac, it looks good on everyone! You should stop a couple of inches from the nose and then I use a highlighter like clear radiance by Bare Minerals on the tops of the cheeks. I takes a little practice but I really think that since i've been doing these particular steps my face has seemed brighter and the cheekbones have popped!

It's called Rise and shine lip plumping stain. I love stains for lips and well...a stain that plumps, that sounds just RAD. I have used both Duwop's Lip Venom and LipFusion. I think that both work... in differents ways, though. I like Lip Venoms burny, tingly feeling. Some people don't like it but I think that it gets the job done. I also like LipFusion, it works a bit differently by seeking out any moisture in your lips and bonding to it to plump. The LipFusion is just pretty expensive, at $36 bucks a pop. It is a pretty big tube though. This new product by Tarte, however is somewhere in between the two coming in at $21 dollars. It works by stimulating collagen, kindof like the Lipfusion. I wil be reviewing it soon, I promise and will get back to you with pictures of proof. Yay, I'm excited!!!
Any suggestons for summer?? What are everyone's favorite scents for the hot months?? That's one that I always have a problem with.

So I color my hair a little, It's a little less red than it used to be. I'm just putting it back to where I like it. For those of you who color your hair you may know that red haircolor fades the fastest. So when I saw the commercial for the new John Frieda Luminous color glaze I was all "right on". It sounded plausable enough and it's supposed to make hair shiny, I love shiny!!. It's only ten bucks so I bought some last week. I wasn't really sure how it was supposed to work, I mean I guess it just deposits a little bit of pigment onto the strands. So anyway I used it...and the first thing I noticed was "oh shiznit, this stuff is runny". It was not wanting stay in my hand let alone make it to my hair. I probably had to go through a third of the bottle just the first time I used it. Being that the glaze was red it looked a bit like we'd had a PSYCHO situation in the shower. I finally got my hair saturated and waited three minutes. Rinse, condition and outta the shower. It dosen't SAY to condition on the bottle but seeing as how the stuff made my hair feel like brillo, I though I better. So I started to dry my hair and immediatly it felt weird. I can't really explain it but it was like dry (even though it was still wet) and smushy feeling. So I got it all dry and it still felt weird, almost like I hadn't gotten all of the conditioner washed out or something. And I really couldn't tell anything with the color either. I've used it three more times and the only thing that seems redder is my scalp. Oh and the hands...you must wash them IMMEDIATLY cause this stuff stains! Bottom line: Dosen't work, makes hair feel icky and kinda stinks.
Damn, I really wanted this to work. Oh well, on to the next color extender wonder product. I hear that Herbal Essence has a foam, and it's supposed to be VERY shiny!
See what you do is line the INNER rim of your eye with white or very light beige eyeliner and presto, you are instantly awake. Ok, maybe you'll still need coffee but you'll LOOK awake. This is also good if you are a dry eyed gal. Like me you probably have some reddness going on, this trick will really lessen that. I use Revlon timeliner for eyes in white, it's the creamiest brand i've found.. Trust me ladies...and men??? This will really open up your eyes!

Now, i'm usually a Phliosophy or Body shop kinda gal becasue OMG could Philosophy be any creamier and yummy? But as I was at Price Cutter this clearly wasen't an option and I was totallly out of product, so I thought i'd see what herbal essence had in the way of body washes. I was in the mood for something citrusy and awakening. I saw this bright red-jewl colored beauty out of the corner of my eye and it was Softsoap brand pomegranite mango body wash. I smelled it and in an instant almost drank it! It smells so good ya'll, I just used it this morning and it sudses up nicely too. So this is an inexpensive alterantive to anyone who fiinds themselves in a bind or just someone who's trying to be frugal, as I am these days. Great buy!!
Instyle listed it as their #1 pick for flat irons in the may issue. I had been lusting over it for months, damn I wanted to get it but it was freakin $200 dollars. Well, I found one on ebay for $140, I know still a hella lot of cash but we don't have kids and I have an addiction...so I bought it. It came, I did a little dance and went straight to the shower. Got out of the shower, plugged her in. It does heat up awful nice and fast BUT....dosen't work for shit!. People, I am not even kidding, I almost cried. I was sure that it would change my life. Things don't just. not. do. what they say they'll do, RIGHT. Wrong.
Not only did it not dry and straighten my hair in one fancy technologically advanced step but it actually made it look worse. Like thin and just weird. It also pulled out hairs. The plates are bigger than most other irons, so that might have had something to do with it but I don't relly know. I think that if you had maybe just slightly wavy hair, which I do not, or if you hair is on the thinner side, which mine isn't...then this might work for you. As for me though, it was a major disappointment. So it's going right back to where it came from, Ebay!
